Children and Youth
Awana
We are happy to have your child to attend our Awana Club. It is a privilege for us to partner with you to equip your child to grow spiritually and socially. Awana helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Our programs offer a proven approach for evangelizing and discipling kids in the church and community.
Each week is filled with life-enriching experiences that provide positive Biblical teaching and training. Young people learn about God, his son Jesus, and the truth of the Bible. We want our clubbers to know that God loves them and has a plan for their lives. As a parent or caregiver, you are instrumental in supporting your child’s interest and success in the Awana program.
If you do not regularly attend New Providence, please know that you and your child are welcome and invited to join our Awana club. We minister to children and youth age 3 year old through the 6th grade. Awana starts approximately 20 minutes after the 10 a.m. worship service ends. Due to the variance in ending time of the worship service we cannot provide you with an exact starting time. We invite you to join us for morning worship so that your child can transition to Awana.

Children’s Church
Children’s church ministry serves our young disciples ages 2-11 on 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays during morning worship. Our mission is to offer a teaching ministry that has fun, interactive, age-appropriate Bible application at the heart of every lesson. Our prayer is that children will connect to God and the Bible, and be introduced to Jesus Christ. To volunteer to serve at Children’s Church, please contact C. Gail McClain at childrenschurch@newprovidencebaptist.com

Thrive Ministry (formerly Teen Ministry)
The vision of THRIVE is to help our teens know Jesus, navigate their culture, engage their world with the gospel, and THRIVE! To THRIVE is to flourish, to grow vigorously. There is a difference between surviving and thriving. Surviving means “to continue to live or exist,” while thriving can be defined as “to grow or develop well, to prosper or to flourish.” Each 4th Saturday meeting will be a mixture of small-group activities focusing on connections to help them navigate life, grow spiritually, and THRIVE. They will engage in relevant teaching, fun fellowships, discipleship, teen talks, crafts, games, and evangelism. We want to balance teaching “what they need to know ” and “what they need to grow!” So, over the next two years, we will have discussions and presentations about Identity, Purpose, Mental Health and Anxiety, the Holy Spirit, and prayer.
